Utah Summers

The great thing about summers out here is there is so much to do! Makes working on school complicated. You really have to schedule your time carefully! The first thing to catch you up on is the Wasatch Back. Yes, I survived. Still not sure if I'd ever do it again, but I did do much better than I thought I would. I will say I was very surprised at how far I could push my body. I could barely walk after my first leg and yet I ran my next two legs even faster! The body is amazing!

Here's the entire team at the start - 6am.

And here I am goofing around waiting for my turn to run to come. I was #6 so everyone in my car had to run before I got to. I had to keep myself entertained!

Here I am finishing up my final leg. My left hip and right foot were hurting after my second leg, but I still managed to run a 20 minute 5K. Not bad considering both shoes came untied and I got stuck at a red light.

And here we all are - completely exhausted at the finish.

Next up - Renee's wedding! It's no small undertaking when the entire family tries to get together. This time was no exception!

We ended up spending about 9 hours in the same chapel - from lunch to the end of the reception. We had to get pretty creative. Here I'm trying to get Sophie to join me in an A Capella version of You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'. She got the "doop da doop" part!

I'm not sure what I like about this next picture best - Nicole's reaction, Betsy's reaction, or mine! I decided to have some fun at Betsy's expense.

I also went on my yearly hike of Mt Timp with, of course, some good friends. It was a beautiful day but there was still lots of snow! It made the waterfalls full, but did create a bit of an adventure getting to the top! I only put a few pics here. The rest can be viewed here.

Here's a couple of pics on the way down:

Finished at last!

And finally, birthdays! I missed Payton's, but I made it to Chris' (somewhat undocumented) and Tanner's. Tanner got some new camera equipment so we tested it out!

Did you ever use the workouts Pat sent you? He was curious as he had to type them from his handwritten notes, etc. He was so excited that you wanted them and wanted to know how they were working for you now.
